FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today is my baby girl's first day of school.  And for a treat, I am making her chex mix. Mine is alittle different than the true mix.  Which you can get on their website.  I just add alittle bit of differnet stuff.

4 and a half cups of rice chex mix cereal.
4 and a half cups of corn chex mix cereal.
about 3 cups of pretzels. (depends on what kind you get.  I just the twisty bite sized ones and tear them apart.  My tip is to put them in a mixing cup and with your fingers press down on the pretzels in the cup.  Its the easiest for me.)
a full small size canister of cashews.  (I am addicted to cashews, so if you dont like them that much than just put as much as you want.
about a cup of peanuts.  (peanuts are tiny and you get ALOT of them in a cups worth).
6 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of worstershire sauce.
1 and a half teaspoon of seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
3/4 teaspoon of garlic powder

mix all of the cereal, pretzels, and nuts in a very large bowl.
melt the butter and after that mix all of the seasoning together with the melted butter.
Once the seasoning mix is done you are going to pour it into the large bowl with the cerceal mix.  I use a spactula and mix it all together.  Coat every piece well.  This is another tip, I use a big roasting pan, like the one for thanksgiving.  I get the aluminium one at the dollar store.  Put in the oven at 350 degrees.  Sir the chex mix every so often, it will burn otherwise.  You will know when its done, the cereal pieces will be harder and alittle bit browner.  The edges might look burnt but it is not, so dont worry about that.  pull it out and put it back into the large bowl, it needs to dry out and cool down.  If you want more salt then now is the time to add that.  I dont, cause my daughter eats it, but if you like it then add it.  =)
